Revenue Sharing

How creators and collectors share revenue on HandCraft

On HandCraft, collecting isn't just about owning — it's about earning. Every time someone buys, rents, or subscribes to a piece of content, a portion of that revenue flows to people who already own the NFT.

How Creators Set It Up

When you publish content, you choose how much to share with your collectors. The default split gives collectors 12% of every sale — but you can set it anywhere from 0% to 15%.

Once your first NFT is sold, the split locks permanently. This protects early supporters — they know exactly what they signed up for.

How Collectors Earn

If you own an NFT for a piece of content, you earn a share of:

  • Every new mint of that content
  • Every rental
  • Subscription revenue (distributed daily)
  • Secondary sale royalties

You don't need to do anything — rewards accumulate automatically and you can claim them anytime.

Rarity Matters

Not all NFTs are created equal. When you mint, you get a random rarity:

RarityChanceHow Much More You Earn
Common55%1x
Uncommon27%5x
Rare13%20x
Epic4%60x
Legendary1%120x

A Legendary NFT earns 120 times more than a Common one from the same content. Rarity is determined randomly at mint — you can't choose it.

Example

A creator sells 100 NFTs at 1 SOL each with the default 12% holder share. That's 12 SOL flowing to the reward pool.

If you hold a Legendary NFT and everyone else holds Common:

  • Your reward weight: 120
  • Everyone else combined: 99
  • Your share: about 6.6 SOL — from a 1 SOL purchase

And it doesn't stop there. Every future sale, rental, and subscription payment for that content adds more to the pool.

Early Supporters Are Protected

  • Your reward percentage locks after the first sale — creators can't change it later
  • If you mint early, you earn from every sale after yours — late minters can't claim your rewards
  • You can claim all your pending rewards across all your content and bundles in one go

Where the Rest Goes

Besides the collector share, revenue is split between the creator (majority), the HandCraft platform, and the Craftec ecosystem. Creators receive the largest share — typically around 80% with default settings.
